Storms move in faster than a trip to the mailbox, here in west central Texas. One minute its sunny, and the next there is a thick dark line inching its way across the front yard. I always mean to take pictures of it, but have gotten so used to it, I forget how alluring it is. During this specific storm, lightning struck in between those two houses, right behind that fence. It was amazing, and oh so loud. Luckily, this being our 4th summer in Texas, Eleanore has been raised around the storming, and the thunder doesn't bother her. Yesterday she was actually asking for it, like I could pull it out of the pantry like a cereal box.

What a fantastic photograph. Glad you captured the moment. I love summer thunderstorms too, especially when they wake me up at night. :-) Thankfully, my daughter sleeps right through them.

I'm still not used to it, three years after moving to Texas. But wow, the weather has been nuts this past week!!

hey, we are looking into extending out lease another six months. I'll let you know, and we need to plan another get together. Today, Annelie saw Elie's cup and said, "That's Elie's cup!" I was so surprised that she remembered, being only 2 and a half. We really should get together!!

Wow, that is an amazing picture! It's so funny what some of us take for granted. Just beautiful.

I'm with Eleanore, I love the thunder and always have! We lived in a valley when I was very young (1-3.5 years) and we'd get huge thunderstorms. My mom sat with me and clapped and said "Boom" every time the thunder clapped. I'm certain that is why I love it so.

OliveStreetStudio- I used to love it when thunder storms would wake me up! Now I'm so tired, I always sleep right through them. The kids tucker me out. And thankfully, my kids sleep through them as well, just like yours does, hehe.

UniqueNurseGranny- we sure can!!

Hybrid Hopes- Steph I love that you come to my blog. You're one of the few personal friends/sisters that comes to see what we're up to.

ElegantSnobbery- We DO need to get together. I've been so busy lately, and I see you have been to, what with your seemingly non stop new projects, hehe.

Johanna- I should have Elie clap everytime she hears thunder. That sounds like so much fun! I bet you have really great memories from those times.

gorgeous! I'm a HUGE fan of a good thunderstorm. When I was little, I used to sit on my dad's lap and we'd laugh at the really good peals of thunder! I'm glad that Elie likes it too!
